My friend Jeff very kindly sent me two Nikon Coolpix 4200s. I gave them a spin because CCD sensors are pretty cool these days. I don't have an SD card that's compatible with it so I can only take six or seven pictures on them at a time.
Here are the only two passable shots from the first trip out. Honestly the level of detail is better than I expected and the dynamic feels a little like slide film.
The camera itself produces huge pincushion distortion that has to be corrected in post, losing a little resolution along the way. I think in the right circumstances they can be a lot of fun.
The first one is a little blurry because I'm no good at hand-holding tiny digicams but I don't hate that. It's very early-2000s to have motion blur in your pictures.
